A panel of experts will discuss the changing world of corporate payments, including the emergence of blockchain and crypto currencies, at next month’s BBT Forum.
Speakers for the session include Roberto Da Re (pictured, left), founder of Travel Ledger Alliance, a billing and settlement platform based on blockchain technology; and Jay Patel (pictured, right), UK and Ireland head of sales and partner management at Airplus International.
Da Re is a travel technology executive with more than 20 years’ experience. After designing solutions that automate back office and inventory management for companies across the globe, he stepped away from the day-to-day operation at Dolphin Dynamics and started a travel-related blockchain project to bring into existence a billing and settlement platform for non-air services.
As head of Airplus’s UK and Ireland account management and sales support division, Patel is responsible for ensuring the highest level of service to clients. With seven years’ experience within the corporate travel payments sector, Patel has worked within a range of industries including sport and leisure, retail, transport, hospitality and manufacturing. He has dedicated his time to help organisations manage the payment and reconciliation of their corporate travel spend in the most cost-effective and efficient manner possible.
During this panel discussion, Da Re and Patel will inform attendees about the benefits of virtual cards and best practice for implementing them into travel programmes, as well as what blockchain means for the corporate travel sector. The experts will aim to enlighten delegates with key messages to assess the readiness of their companies for change.
The next BBT Forum – held in association with ACTE – heads to its new venue on 16 May at One Whitehall Place from 9.30am-4.30pm. The event, which is sponsored by AirPlus International, All Nippon Airways, Enterprise and HRS, includes a buffet lunch and plenty of networking opportunities.
Other panels lined up for the event will cover influencing traveller behaviour, GDPR and the future of procurement. View the full agenda at bbtforum.com/schedule
