Luis Maroto has replaced David Jones as president and CEO at travel technology firm Amadeus.
Maroto was announced as the new CEO in January 2010, and has spent the past year working with Jones and the Amadeus executive team to ensure a smooth transition.
He has worked for Amadeus for 11 years in a number of positions including CFO and most recently deputy CEO, a role which meant overseeing Amadeus’ launch on the Spanish stock exchange.
Today (January 4) Amadeus is debuting on the Spanish blue-chip index IBEX-35.
Talking about his new role, Maroto said:“I take up this challenge with huge enthusiasm and look forward to working with our customers, employees and investors in this exciting and growing industry.
“I am confident that, alongside the company’s outstanding team of professionals, we will ensure that Amadeus continues to be a great company to do business with and continues to lead innovation in the travel and tourism industry.”
