Lufthansa has launched a new platform allowing travellers to book conference rooms, hot desks and offices.
The Lufthansa Global Spaces initiative, which has been developed by the Lufthansa Innovation Hub, offers hot desks, private offices or meeting rooms with matching accommodation in five cities: Berlin, Munich, Barcelona, Singapore and New York.
The service will initially be offered for a three-month period and, if successful, will be rolled out globally. It can also be used by the participants of the Miles & More loyalty programme who can book a workstation through their account and earn extra reward miles.
The selection and booking of workspaces will be carried out through the reservation platform Hubli, which has a worldwide network of 185,000 spaces.
Christine Wang, managing director of Lufthansa Innovation Hub, said: “We want to provide travellers with the most seamless, enjoyable travel experience possible, even beyond flying.
“Today, this also means making it possible for customers to work from anywhere. The future of work is flexible and, in many cases, not tied to a specific location – and we want to help shape this future.”
Ciaran Delaney, Hubli’s founder and CEO, added: “We share the same vision on how work and travel are now converging. ‘Bleisure’ is a rapidly emerging segment, while the need to connect in-person to build company culture is redefining business travel.
“Lufthansa Global Spaces is the perfect solution addressing the new way we work and travel today.”
