Iberia has enhanced its agreement with global distribution service (GDS) provider Sabre Travel Network.
The new "multi-year" deal gives Sabre-connected agents access to Iberia's full range of fares, schedules and seat availability.
Martin Cowley, senior vp, Sabre Travel Network, EMEA, said: "Carriers looking for ways to increase their revenues and minimise costs shouldn't look beyond the GDS distribution channel which delivers the highest yield for each seat sold."
Spanish network carrier Iberia which is a part owner of rival GDS Amadeus, has upgraded its existing Sabre connectivity to ‘Direct Connect Availability' giving the GDS real-time inventory access.
The upgraded connection also means travel agents using Sabre's system will be able to see seats on Iberia aircraft filled in real time.
"The number one concern for agencies is real-time access to relevant content. Our improved connectivity with Iberia gives agencies confidence," Mr Cowley added.
Iberia is the latest airline to sign a GDS agreement, Sabre said. The technology provider said more than 400 airlines had signed similar deals.
Jose Arribas, Iberia's vp commercial logistics, said Sabre's growth in Europe and market share in the Americas made it an ideal distribution partner.
