Hertz has launched an iPhone application in 18 languages for European customers, allowing customers to make reservations via their smartphones.
The app has been available to US customers for some time, but from today can be accessed by those in Europe.
Available to download from www.hertz.co.uk/app, it allows people to make reservations using their iPhones, search for nearby Hertz locations and get special deals.
The car rental company has also announced plans to expand the number of its self-service kiosks in Europe, which are currently only available at less than 15 airports.
The touch-screen technology, similar to that used by airlines in airports, can currently be used by customers who have prepaid for their car rental, but Hertz plans to expand the service to non prepaid tariffs early next year.
Customers can select and purchase upgrades, optional insurance and waiver products, fuel options and add-ons, such as the Hertz NeverLost in-car satellite navigation system.
