Middle Eastern airline Saudia has unveiled its first premium economy seat, which will start being offered on flights from 2027.
The new cabin forms part of the Saudi Arabian carrier’s fleet modernisation and cabin refurbishment programme. Saudia’s premium economy seat will offer a 43-inch pitch, 15.5-inch entertainment screen, calf rest and additional storage space.
Premium economy will initially be offered on Saudia’s newly delivered Boeing 787 aircraft from next year, as well as being retrofitted on some existing long-haul aircraft in its fleet.
Arved von zur Muehlen, chief commercial officer at Saudia, said: “The introduction of premium economy marks another step in enhancing the choices and comfort available to our guests. As part of the New Saudia Experience, we continue to invest in our onboard products and services to deliver a more comfortable and seamless journey.”
The premium economy seat was showcased at World Travel Market in London this week, alongside Saudia’s new business class cabin for its Airbus A321XLR, which joined the airline’s fleet earlier this year.
