Global travel technology company, Sabre Travel Network, has introduced a new tool that enables travel managers and TMCs (travel management companies) to quickly locate any traveller around the world.
Traveller Security and Data Suite is a web-based application which provides secure access to traveller information and detailed reports to help travel managers and agents keep up-to-date with possible threats or dangers that could affect their clients.
Sabre cites a recent survey by the National Business Travel Association, which found that corporate travel managers felt the impact of terror plots on corporate travel and air security to be the most prominent travel event of 2006.
”We live in a world that increasingly requires corporations to immediately locate employees in times of global events - whether they are terrorist threats or natural disasters,” said Sabre Travel Network and Sabre Airline Solutions chief marketing officer, Greg Webb.
”This new suite meets that corporate need and also provides many additional reporting and notification features. Sabre has leveraged several of its data and reporting capabilities to deliver a robust solution at an affordable price.”
Available around the clock through secure access, users can find all travellers in any given location via a world map or through a search criteria facility. The detailed report includes traveller contact information, complete Sabre reservation data and a link to Sabre Virtually There for full itinerary bookings.
When activated, the software provides detailed information on air, car and hotel bookings for almost a year of pre-trip travel and three years of post-trip data on all reservations made through Sabre.
TMC Valerie Wilson Travel experienced real benefits of the system during recent terrorist threats in London. ”When we heard of the situation in the UK, we immediately accessed the TSDS software and requested a report of all travellers in the UK from 30 June to 9 July,” said director of IT and training, Louis Rodriquez.
”The response time was very quick and we were able to forward these reports via email to key people within Valerie Wilson Travel and to our clients.”
