Redfern Travel has responded to an increase in demand for meetings management by introducing a new booking tool.
The online Request for Meetings (RfM) system, from technology company ABC Connection, automates the venue search, enquiry and client proposal process.
Neil Hopwood, CEO of Redfern Travel, said: "Booking and sourcing venues for meetings and conferences is very labour intensive. However, this ABC tool that we've found actually streamlines a lot of the repetition and makes it much quicker."
To introduce further savings for clients, Redfern plans to turn the RfM tool into one that clients can use themselves, in the coming months.
It is a model Redfern has followed in recent years.
"We've grown our business three-fold in the last four years because we've turned to customer facing booking tools and made it cheaper at the point of sale," said Hopwood.
"The benefits clearly are that if you turn the tool and let the client use it they can make the decisions themselves and see the cheaper fares and cheaper hotels, and make the decision themselves. They can actually save quite a lot of money."
The RfM system provides online access to the ABC Connection database of meetings and conference venues. The system automatically alerts hotels and venues when they have an enquiry from Redfern Travel, enabling them to respond online with availability and prices.
