Global travel and operational risk company Anvil has released a new booking authorisation tool as part of its Riskmatics system, which it says will enable travel managers to automatically factor traveller safety into their standard approval process.
The new tool allows managers to include risk factors in their approval system. Anvil says this extra dimension of the authorisation process doesn’t add additional administrative tasks to managers’ or their travellers’ workloads.
Anvil says the authorisation tool works by automatically cross-matching trip details against the risk data provided through the company’s Threat and Risk Intelligence Service (TRIS). Should a traveller schedule a trip to an area deemed higher risk, an alert is sent to the relevant manager, who can then approve, reject or request changes to trips based on the organisation’s existing policies and other mitigating factors. If the trip is approved, the traveller can be briefed on additional precautions they may need to take or directed to undertake pre-travel training.
Trips to low-risk areas are approved automatically, allowing managers to focus on higher-risk requests.

You then need to ensure that the appropriate risk mitigation measures are in place and adhered to. This hasn’t always been easy but with our new authorisation tool, we’re helping to simplify this process significantly.”
