Hertz has reported a 5 per cent drop in revenue for the second quarter of 2015.
The car rental firm said income was hit by a strong dollar and low rental volume in the US.
Revenue fell to $2.69 billion from $2.83 billion in the quarter ending June 30. While net income fell to $23 million from $72 million for the same period last year.
Total US car rental revenues were $1.6 million in the second quarter of 2015, down 3 per cent from the second quarter of 2014 as a result of a 2 per cent decline in the amount of time people are renting vehicles.
Hertz also cited a decrease in off-airport rental volume due in part to the closure of around 200 stores. Outside of the US, car rental revenue declined 13 percent to $556 million.
Hertz, which won best car rental firm at this year’s Business Travel Awards, recently terminated its deal with Ryanair after disagreements with the airline’s recent GDS deals.
