Italian automobile manufacturer Fiat has launched eco:Drive Fleet, a computer application that aims to improve driving efficiency for companies with their own fleets of cars.
The eco:Drive programme records the way people drive and offers tips to make their driving more fuel efficient.
Luis Cilimingras, director of digital strategy at Fiat, said: "It can help drivers reduce their fuel consumption by up to 15%."
The newly launched Eco:Drive Fleet offers the ability to aggregate the results of a number of drivers and compare their driving style, so a company can monitor how fuel efficient they are.
It uses Fiat's Blue&Me system to record driving styles onto a USB stick, which can then be removed and used to transfer the information to a computer.
Cilimingras said the tool has revealed Italian, Spanish and French to be worse drivers, in terms of fuel efficiency, than British and German.
