Travel management company FCM has opened a new office in Barcelona, Spain as part of a direct-to-market strategy to "boost service capabilities" in the country.
The Flight Centre-owned TMC, which has travel consultants based in Madrid and Barcelona, was previously assisted by local agency partnerships and, according to FCM global managing director Marcus Eklund, the decision to set up a dedicated office was driven by “changing customer requirements”.
“We are thrilled to solidify our Iberian presence and fully own the customer experience for local clients as well as global companies with Spanish operations,” he said.
“By shifting to a direct-to-market strategy, we can provide a fully flexible, tailored travel management service while boosting our ability to identify and fill market gaps.”
Leading the Barcelona team is Solenn Le Brazidec, a 20-year travel industry veteran who also oversees FCM’s businesses in France and Switzerland. Le Brazidec has been tasked to develop local supplier relationships and to grow the TMC’s customer base in Spain.
“We are excited to expand our presence in the country with the opening of FCM’s newest office and provide our clients and prospects with a deeper level of service,” she said.
The Barcelona office builds upon FCM’s existing presence in Spain, where the company operates FCM Lab, a global hub dedicated to developing new travel technology solutions.
