Egencia is launching a new Wellbeing Dashboard to help clients to design policies that account for traveller wellbeing.
The technology-focused TMC, which is part of American Express Global Business Travel, said it had created the dashboard in “response to customer demand for a tangible way to measure traveller wellbeing”.
The dashboard, which is available to both Egencia and Amex GBT clients, includes a range of metrics such as the percentage of same day trips or trips above the number of specified days set by the client, as well as the percentage of trips including weekend travel.
There are also key performance indicators (KPIs) that can be benchmarked against other clients to create a range of best practice guidelines based on typical traveller behaviour, which can be segmented by sector or travel spend.
John Sturino, Egencia’s VP of product and technology, said: “The new world of work has made it more important than ever for companies to ensure they're focusing on their employees' wellbeing.
“Businesses know that travel has an effect on employee stress and fatigue, but without clear metrics it's hard to know what changes might help. We therefore designed the Wellbeing Dashboard to give customers the data they need to design a wellbeing-conscious travel policy.”
The dashboard also gives buyers information such as the percentage of long-haul flights that travellers are taking in economy cabins, as well as those who are experiencing time zone differences of several hours on their trips.
Richard Eades, global category manager for travel, meetings and events at energy firm BP, added: “To build a wellbeing-driven and balanced travel policy, we need qualified answers to important questions: Are colleagues flying too much? Are they spending too much time on the road?
“By monitoring and benchmarking our performance on metrics like trip length, we can build travel policies that protect our employees from excessive or uncomfortable travel experiences, and to ensure a positive work versus life balance.”
