Business travel consultants are expected to be in “extremely high demand” over the next few months as the sector continues to rebuild following the pandemic.
The latest jobs data from UK-based C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment found that new travel job vacancies in September reached their highest point since May. At the same time there was a rise in candidate numbers last month, although placements fell to a seven-month low.
Placements dropped by 11 per cent in September compared to the previous month, but the number of jobs filled was still 32 per cent higher than in September 2021 and was also on a par with September 2019 before the pandemic struck.
Barbara Kolosinska, managing director at C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment, said: “It was another very positive month for travel recruitment, with new candidates, vacancies and job placements all above their historical averages.
“In particular, recent months have seen a huge increase in both vacancies and placements in the business travel sector, and we expect experienced business travel consultants to continue to be in extremely high demand in the months ahead.”
Last month, Business Travel Association chair Suzanne Horner warned that staffing “will continue to be a massive struggle” for the industry.
