Online travel management platform TravelPerk has announced a new UK rail integration with Trainline for Business.
The news comes after TravelPerk announced its expansion in the UK market with the appointment of country manager Richard Viner.
TravelPerk says its decision to integrate Trainline was a strategic one for the company, which claims it has seen a “rapid” increase in business travellers turning to rail for work trips. In the first three months of 2019, train bookings made through the platform have grown by 138 per cent.
From today, travellers searching the TravelPerk platform for domestic UK trips will see results from the entire Trainline for Business inventory and can add train tickets to their booking alongside flights and accommodation.
Tickets will be covered by Trainline’s own adjustment and cancellation services, and travellers will also be able to request the help of a dedicated TravelPerk customer care manager for any updates or amendments they need.
Avi Meir, CEO and co-founder of TravelPerk, said: “Access to booking train travel is a growing priority for our customers, and by bringing this much respected service into the platform we are enabling them greater control over their entire trip, reducing the effort involved in organising travel for work while ensuring continual access to the broadest range of options to suit their travel needs. We’re excited to watch our partnership with Trainline for Business flourish in coming months.”
David Higgins, general manager of Trainline for Business, added: “Trainline for Business is extremely proud to be working with TravelPerk, a company aligned with our own ambition to deliver and exceptional booking and travel experience for business travellers.”
