Turkish Airlines announced a net profit increase of 181%, to €134 million, for the first six months of 2010, compared to the same period last year.
The Turkish national carrier has also seen its sales revenue increase by 28% during the first half of 2009, to €1.8 billion.
The number of passengers flying with the airline has increased 19.3% on January to June last year, to 13.4 million.
The operating profit fell 34%, however, to 55 million, which Turkish Airlines has blamed on a 74% increase in the cost of fuel compared to last year.
Looking forward, the airline said: "If another unexpected economical stagnation does not happen, recovery is expected to continue."
The airline expanded capacity, measured in available seat kilometers, by 19.9%.
