Thai Airways has agreed terms to lease eight Boeing 777-300ER twin jets.
The aircraft, which will replace some of Thai’s ageing Boeing 747s, can operate non-stop on routes to Europe, allowing the airline to cut its operating costs. However it is unclear yet whether they will appear on the Heathrow-Bangkok route.
The new aircraft, which have a $2.2 billion list price, will be leased from Singapore-based BOC Aviation. They will be fitted with the airline’s new-style business cabin.
