Air Europa and SAS have entered a codeshare agreement to increase connectivity between Spain and the Scandinavian countries of Norway, Sweden and Denmark, the carriers announced.
SAS passengers will gain access to 10 destinations in Spain – Madrid, Alicante, Barcelona, Vigo, Málaga, A Coruña, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Tenerife Norte – as well as to Lisbon and Oporto in Portugal. The Stockholm-based carrier will also launch a new daily service between Madrid and its hub in Copenhagen on 11 April 2025.
Air Europa passengers, meanwhile, will see increased travel options to Scandinavia, including to Aarhus, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Trondheim, Stavanger and Bergen.
The agreement will extend in summer, with SAS adding its code to other areas of Air Europa’s network, including North Africa, the Caribbean and South America, linking to destinations such as Marrakech, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo and Salvador de Bahia.
Following SAS’ restructure in 2024, both carriers are part of the SkyTeam Airline Alliance.
“This collaboration enables both SAS and Air Europa to offer seamless connections and an exceptional travel experience, all backed by the strength of SkyTeam,” said Paul Verhagen, chief commercial officer at SAS.
