Ryanair has launched its latest initiative to attract more business travellers – ‘Ryanair Business Plus’.
The airline is offering “a tailored suite of travel benefits” which includes flexible tickets, more check-in baggage, priority boarding and "premium" seats.
Ryanair said more than 25 per cent of its customers are travelling on business and that the new fares, starting at €69.99 (£55.69), were designed to get more of their business.
This is the latest step in the airline’s attempt to be more ‘customer friendly’ and attractive to business travellers – In May it introduced allocated seating, relaxed cabin bag restrictions, reduced charges, dedicated family service and loosened booking conditions.
The airline also announced in April it was selling through a GDS for the first time in 10 years. The no-frills carrier said it was partnering with Travelport to distribute its content, with talks being held currently with Sabre and Amadeus for similar deals.
“This launch of Ryanair Business Plus… will make business travel with Ryanair ever simpler, as we continue to offer so much more than just the lowest fares,” said Ryanair’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs.
Last week Ryanair’s head of corporate sales and groups Lesley Kane has confirmed she will step down from her position on September 12.
