Budget carrier Ryanair has announced it will open its 44th European base, in Seville.
From November, the airline plans to operate 10 new routes from Seville, taking the total to 29, including a new service to London Gatwick.
Ryanair estimates it will fly 1.5 million passengers a year via the airport, with more than 250 weekly flights from the city.
The carrier is also introducing two new aircraft to be based at the airport.
The new routes on offer also include: Bari, Eindhoven, Marseille, Palma, Paris, Santiago, Valencia, Venice Treviso, and Zaragoza.
Ryanair's Stephen McNamara said: "Ryanair's 1.5 million passengers will create and sustain 1,500 jobs locally in Seville."
Seville airport is 10km from the city centre. It will be the 8th Spanish base airport.
