Ryanair has announced it grew passenger traffic by 29 per cent in February compared to the previous year.
The Irish carrier flew 5.8 million passengers last month up from 4.5 million in February 2014. It also increased its load factor by 11 per cent last month.
Ryanair’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said the rise in passenger numbers shows its “always getting better” customer service programme is delivering results.
Jacobs added that the airline is rolling out the second phase of the programme later this year which will include a new website and app, cabin interiors, cabin uniforms, inflight menus, reduced airport fees and new digital features such as “hold the fare”.
Boeing orders
Ryanair has announced the purchase of an additional three Boeing 737-800 aircraft for delivery in early 2016 valued at $280 million. CEO Michael O’Leary said the new aircraft will allow the airline to grow its traffic to 160 million customers a year by 2024.
