Qantas and American Airlines have expanded their joint business across the Pacific by adding more flights to its codeshare agreement.
Under the new deal, Qantas will codeshare on a further nine American Airlines’ services including four new destinations: Kona, Lihue and Maui in Hawaii and Richmond in Virginia.
Stephen Thompson, Qantas’ executive manager for international sales, said: “Our expanded codeshare relationship with American Airlines makes travel more convenient for Qantas customers connecting onwards from Los Angeles and Dallas/Fort Worth.
“We are focused on delivering more choices, easier connections and a better overall travel experience, which is made possible with our valued partner.”
Qantas, which operates an Airbus A380 between Sydney and Dallas/Fort Worth, described the US as one of its “most important markets”.
The Australian airline will also increase flights between Melbourne and Los Angeles from daily to 10 per week from January 21, 2015.
