Airport lounge provider No.1 Traveller has agreed a deal with Norwegian Air for the airline’s premium-class passengers to use its lounge at Gatwick’s South Terminal.
Norwegian recently launched low-cost transatlantic flights to New York and Los Angeles – these services will double in May 2015.
Having chosen No. 1 Traveller as its preferred lounge partner, Norwegian’s premium-class passengers will be able to use No.1’s facilities which include complimentary food and drink, bar, bistro table, unlimited wifi and newspapers and magazines.
Norwegian’s economy-class passengers will be able to purchase No.1 lounge entry for £25 at the check-in desk – a £5 saving on the door price.
No.1 Traveller’s head of commercial relationships Kay Joyce, said: “Norwegian has pioneered high-quality low-cost with its transatlantic services, so we’re honoured to have been chosen to offer our premium pre-flight experience as a benefit to its long haul passengers.
“It’s a sign of how progressive Norwegian is that it’s also made our services available to its economy passengers at a discounted rate. We’re looking forward to welcoming many Norwegian passengers soon.”
Norwegian is still awaiting a licence from US Department of Transport (DOT) for a foreign carrier permit to operate Europe – US services.
The DOT said it requires additional time to reach a decision on NAI’s application.
NAI will be able to continue to operate flights to the US under its temporary permit from the DOT.
