ABTN's sister publication, Buying Business Travel, has launched a new summer networking event for senior members of the corporate travel sector.
Summer in the City is to take place at the unique Haberdashers Hall in the City of London on Thursday, July 1.
Guests, including a number of the industry's top travel buyers, at the exclusive event are to be treated to an evening of food, drink and top entertainment.
BBT's editor, Martin Ferguson, said Summer in the City, was a necessary and important addition to the travel industry calendar.
"Summer in the City has been organised to bring together the industry's top buyers, suppliers and decision makers in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
"BBT is already behind the annual Business Travel Awards ceremony that takes place every January, but we felt it was important to bring the industry together in summer, a time of year when networking opportunities have been historically limited."
The event has been launched in association with one of the world's leading luxury airlines, Qatar Airways.
Rachel Finn, the airline's general manager for the UK and Ireland, said: "Qatar Airways is delighted to partner with Buying Business Travel for this industry first.
"We enjoy fantastic working relationships with the business travel market, from buyers to suppliers as well as business travellers themselves.
"We have recently had a number of new team members join and the summer party will be the perfect opportunity to reinforce those relationships."
BBT was also delighted to announce Sabre-Get There and Expotel as sponsors of the inaugural event.
Ferguson said: "I would encourage members of the travel industry to attend on July 1. It will be a fantastic opportunity to network with your peers in a relaxed environment. And, what's more, I've made sure it doesn't clash with any of the World Cup fixtures!"
