Monarch is continuing to operate its normal flight schedule despite speculation about the airline’s future over the weekend.
Several customers sent Twitter messages over the weekend to ask whether the airline was going out of business. But the airline said the “rumours were not true”.
Luton-based Monarch said in a statement: “Our flights are operating as normal, carrying Monarch passengers as scheduled.
"To weather tougher market conditions and to fund its ongoing growth, Monarch expects to announce a significant investment from its stakeholders in the coming days."
The airline said it had been “trading well” and expected to make a profit of around £40 million by the end of the current financial year in October.
"This is despite a difficult period for the holiday industry due to terrorist incidents, Brexit and the resulting devaluation of sterling," added Monarch.
Monarch is a scheduled airline that concentrates on operating routes from the UK to leisure-orientated destinations.
