Lufthansa today (June 22) imposed fare increases in its home market with other European countries expected to follow suite
On short haul flights, economy fares have gone up by between €10-€20 while business class tariffs have risen by €20 on domestic services and by €30 on international ones.
On long haul first class fares will go up by €150 per return flight, by €100 in business class and by €30 in economy.
The airline said the increases would not affect the lead in €99 fare or the £49 one ticket between the UK and Germany.
The airline also cut its fuel surcharges by €3 per leg on short haul and by €5 on longer flights.
The airline said the increases in fares were because of investments including the introduction of the A380 last month.
