Iceland Express has announced it will start flying to three additional destinations in 2011.
The no-frills carrier will launch seasonal services to Edinburgh, Dublin and Belfast next year, after the success of its New York, Chicago and Boston routes.
Matthias Imsland, CEO of Iceland Express, said: “We have witnessed increasing numbers of Irish travellers to Reykjavik throughout 2010 and we are pleased to make life a little easier for those passengers by offering a direct route.
“No other airline offers direct flights between these destinations and Reykjavik, so we are delighted to fill this gap.”
The airline will operate a twice-weekly flight from Rejkjavik, stopping first at Edinburgh before continuing on to Belfast.
The service, to operate on Monday and Friday, will start on June 14 and end on August 30.
The weekly flight to Dublin, operating on Tuesdays, is due to start on June 10, running until August 29.
Both new services will be timetabled to allow passengers to connect onto Iceland Express’ US’ routes.
As previously reported on ABTN, Iceland Express will launch daily flights to New York this summer, as well as new services to Chicago and Boston.
Flights to Chicago will run on a permanent basis from June 10 next year. From June 13, 2011, the airline will also launch flights to Boston.
Flights to New York's Newark International airport will be increased from four-times weekly to daily from June 2011. The airline originally launched flights to New York this June.
