A study carried out by the research division of the Institute of Travel and Meetings (ITM) has claimed that easyJet flights are cheaper than other carriers.
ITM Research surveyed 561 return trips made by business travellers, flown with carriers other than easyJet over 10 weeks.
The trips originated in Germany or the UK. Of these flights, 75% would have been cheaper if easyJet had been the chosen carrier.
The research, commissioned by easyJet, allowed for booking fees and the cost of speedy boarding.
Paul Simmons, easyJet's UK general manager, said businesses are wasting money.
"In short haul air travel a straight business shift will save companies more money than a bloated, time consuming traditional continual tender process ever will - these numbers prove it," said Simmons.
"The airline has tailored its products and services for the business traveller, with frequent flights to major business airports. We encourage Travel Procurement Managers to seriously challenge the way they go about lowering travel costs."
The research also showed that on 43% of trips within the UK, travellers would have saved more than £100 per return flight, and to European destinations a saving of 58% could have been made.
