Hainan Airlines has increased capacity on its Manchester-Beijing route, four months before the service starts.
Starting on June 10, the airline will fly four-times weekly to the Chinese capital and will boost capacity by going from an Airbus 330-200 to an Airbus 330-300.
The larger aircraft holds 292 passengers, with 32 in business class and 260 in economy.
The route was first announced in October, when China president Xi Jingping visited the UK on a state visit.
Stephen Turner, commercial director at Manchester Airport said: “It is excellent news that Hainan Airlines is increasing the number of seats on its four flights a week to Beijing. This gives the 22 m people in our catchment area more choice and availability on what we believe will be an incredibly popular route.”
