Planned strike action from Greek air traffic controllers due to start this week has been called off.
The Federation of Civil Aviation unions announced the suspension of strikes between June 20 and June 25.
It said “all domestic and international flights in Greece are expected to operate as normal on these dates. If you have any concerns, please contact your airline or travel company.”
Aviation lobby group Airlines4Europe has renewed calls for governments to act over continued disruption across Europe. It comes as France air traffic controllers held its 50th strike since 2009.
“We are reaching a pathetic milestone: more than 50 ATC strikes in France over the last seven years which account for more than 150 days of disruption,” said Thomas Reynaert, Managing Director of A4E.
“Understandably, European passengers and airlines are frustrated as these strikes take place at a very busy time of the year. The European Commission and governments must act immediately to protect the rights of millions of European travellers affected by this repeated and disproportionate industrial action.”
