Germanwings is to launch a Dusseldorf to London Stansted service on August 22.
The route will be twice-daily, morning and evening flights, on weekdays and one flight on both Saturdays and Sundays.
Heinz Joachim Schöttes senior VP corporate communications for Germanwings,said: “It’s great to be able to launch this new connection from Dusseldorf to London Stansted.
“Dusseldorf is an incredible mix of Rhineland charm, history, arts, and culture, and we’re pleased to be able to make this area more accessible for UK businesses and tourists.”
Stansted airport’s managing director Andrew Harrison, said: “Airline expansion to new markets is always an exciting development and I’m delighted to welcome to Stansted the first Germanwings service between Dusseldorf and London, which I’m sure, will be very popular for both business and leisure travel.”
Earlier this month Germanwings ended flights between Birmingham and Berlin Tegel from the end of next month.
