Strike action by the Finnish Aviation Union has caused disruption to a number of Finnair flights.
In a dispute over pay, workers who provide technical services to the airline began the walk-out at 5am this morning (October 25).
Negotiations over a new collective agreement on air transport services, overseen by national conciliator Esa Lonka, broke down over the weekend.
Due to the lack of aircraft maintenance, Finnair has cancelled around 25 flights today and tomorrow, while others have been affected by delays.
Anssi Komulainen, Finnair’s SVP customer service, said: "It is difficult to assess the impact of the strike, because the situation of flights can change at short notice.
“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience our customers may experience.”
Finnair said it is making “every effort” to re-route passengers to their destinations on other flights.
The airline is, however, recommending travellers pack essential items, such as medicines and travel documents, in hand baggage.
