Noyes to succeed Hopkins as Gray Dawes CEO
Gray Dawes Travel has named ex-British Airways customer services director David Noyes as ceo.
Mr Noyes, who left BA in the wake of the troubled opening of Heathrow's T5, will succeed Ray Hopkins who retires after 27 years at the travel management company (TMC).
The company said Mr Noyes would bring with him "tremendous experience of the travel industry."
Mr Hopkins will leave Gray at the end of this month. Mr Noyes will then take over as chief on October 1.
Gray's chairman Peter Inchcape said Mr Hopkins had led the company for many years and thanked him for his "long serving contribution".
Mr Noyes and BA's ex-director of operations Gareth Kirkwood both stood down in April following the opening of Heathrow's T5 building.
Passengers travelling through Heathrow's newest terminal at the time experienced delays and problems with baggage handling.
Willie Walsh, BA's ceo, said it had not been BA's "finest hour" and that he would accept full responsibility.
