Taiwan-based airline Eva Air has commenced a new service from Munich to Taipei.
Following the inaugural flight on Thursday (3 November), the four-times-weekly service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, serviced by a Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Munich Airport CEO Jost Lammers said the new route provides “excellent transfer connections” into Asia and marks a positive sign for the “continuous recovery” of traffic at the German hub.
The new route comes as the carrier looks to rebuild and expand its long-haul network after launching flights to Milan in October, and increasing flights on its London-Bangkok-Taipei route in August.
The carrier, which has been a member of Star Alliance since 2013, currently serves 68 destinations, including European hubs such as London, Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna and Milan.
