Middle eastern airline Emirates will start daily flights to Copenhagen from its Dubai hub this summer.
Flights to the capital of Denmark, marking the 67th country served by the airline, will start on August 1.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Emirates’ CEO, said Copenhagen is an important hub for the whole of Scandinavia.
“The launch of our non-stop service will open up a new market for Emirates,” he said, “It will also offer Denmark’s businesses with easy connections to previously untapped markets.
“Dubai and Copenhagen both have a strong maritime and trading tradition and Emirates is looking forward to adding this dynamic city to our European network.
Flight EK 151, operated using an Airbus A330-200 in a three-class configuration – will leave Dubai at 8.30am and arrive into Copenhagen at 1.10pm.
From Copenhagen, flight EK 152 will depart at 2.55pm, arriving into Dubai at 11.15pm.
Copenhagen will be Emirates' third new route to launch in 2011. Flights to Basra will start on February 2, and to Geneva on June 1.
