Dubai-based carrier Emirates today (June 8) ordered a further 32 Airbus A380s, taking its total order for the plane to 90.
The new deal, signed today at the Berlin Air Show, will cost the Middle East carrier $11.5bn.
The deal was signed by Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Emirates' chairman and ceo and Tom Enders, Airbus president and ceo.
Al-Maktoum said: "This latest order...affirms Emirates' strategy to become a world leading carrier and to further establish Dubai as a central gateway to worldwide air travel.
"The A380 is our flagship in terms of passenger comfort, innovation, operating and environmental efficiency and revenue generation."
Emirates took delivery of its 10th A380 yesterday and it is now serving eight destinations with the plane.
