Easyjet has confirmed that summer strike action has been averted after staff agreed to accept the airline’s combined pay proposal.
Last month, Unite union balloted members on possible strike action but a recommendation to vote in favour of Easyjet’s combined pay proposal means the threat of disruption has been removed.
The new offer includes the recent two year pay award of 4.1 per cent for cabin crew and 5.1 per cent for cabin managers backdated to January 2015, and an increase in the holiday pay allowance for all cabin crew.
In a statement Easyjet said it “values the contribution” cabin crew make and is “pleased to have reached a positive conclusion”. It added that passengers can now “complete reassurance”that their travel plans will not be disrupted this summer.
