Easyjet pilots have voted overwhelmingly for strike action, prompting an 11th hour offer from the airline to resolve the dispute.
The British Airline Pilots Association confirmed 96 per cent of union members voted for “some form of industrial action” with an 88 per cent turnout.
The action is over complaints that Easyjet’s pilot schedule is resulting in rising levels of fatigue.
"BALPA has now received a last minute offer from Easyjet to resolve the dispute and we will consider this carefully in meetings tomorrow before taking any further decisions,” said general secretary Brian Strutton.
"For clarity that means there are no plans for pilots taking industrial action in Easyjet at this stage. We will issue further information tomorrow,” he added.
An Easyjet spokesperson said: "We are committed to working with Balpa to find a resolution to the issues raised and we hope to reach a mutually agreeable solution.
"EasyJet can reassure its passengers that no industrial action is currently planned by its UK pilots.”
