Easyjet has topped a list of the most complained about airline in 2016.
Data from flight compensation company EUclaim exposes which airlines and airports received the most complaints last year.
The no-frills carrier knocked Thomas Cook off the number one sport after receiving 15,499 complaint enquiries made through EUclaim.
Ryanair was second with 9,887 complaints, an increase of 60 per cent on 2015 with BA in third with 8,117 complaints.
Tjitze Noorderhaven, UK manager for EUclaim said: “We appreciate that weather conditions have been a major contributor to the high numbers of delays and cancellations experienced last year. Poor flying conditions throughout December as well as earlier on in March and June are likely to be a driving force behind the incredibly high volume of compensation advice we’ve responded to.
“However, while weather affects all airlines, some have been more efficient at reducing delays and cancellations. Thomas Cook for example has made great strides in improving its services.”
Gatwick and Heathrow were both named in the top 10 most complained about airports, with Norwich, Jersey and Belfast International making up the top three.
