Easyjet has decided to cancel some flights to and from Italy due to a 24-hour strike by cabin crew this week.
Italy-based cabin crew, who are members of the AP Avia union, are scheduled to hold an all-day strike on Wednesday (October 8) across the country’s airports.
“Easyjet’s flights to and from all Italian airports will be affected and we apologise for any inconvenience that the strike may cause, despite this being beyond the airline’s control,” said the airline in a statement.
“We are doing everything possible to minimise the impact to our customers, however we have had to proactively cancel a number of flights to and from Italy.”
The cancellations include some of Easyjet’s UK services to and from Italy on Wednesday. The airline said it would contact all affected passengers by SMS text messages and email.
Passengers on affected flights will be offered a free transfer to another flight or a full refund.
