Easyjet is strengthening its business travel offering with four new business destinations and additional frequencies on some of the most popular routes from Amsterdam.
The airline, which is opening a new base in Amsterdam in spring 2015, will launch routes to Hamburg, Venice, Toulouse, Nice, as well as to the cities of Olbia and Dubrovnik.
Easyjet said the creation of its Amsterdam base has meant it can provide a new daily early morning departure to Geneva, in addition to the existing early slot to London Gatwick.
The airline, which transports around one million business passengers to and from Amsterdam a year, will increase frequency on its London Gatwick to Amsterdam route by an extra seven flights a week.
Additional traffic in Amsterdam is expected to increase by 600,000 passengers next year, which is a 16 per cent year-on-year increase (for 12 months ending September 2015), up from 3.6 million passengers in the last year.
William Vet, Easyjet’s commercial manager for the Netherlands, said: “Easyjet will bring a balanced and mature offering to the Netherlands. This will grow in line with our passenger needs.
“Basing three aircraft in the Netherlands will bring more choice for Dutch passengers and lower fares. It will also help boost local tourism and economic growth with the creation of hundreds of jobs and increased passenger numbers,” he said.
The new routes are:
| Destination | Frequency |
1 | Dubrovnik | 2 weekly |
2 | Nice | 7 weekly |
3 | Olbia | 2 weekly |
4 | Toulouse | 3 weekly |
5 | Venice | 7 weekly |
