Easyjet was forced to cancel 173 flights last month mainly due to French air traffic control strikes.
Despite the strike action and other incidents such as the Egypt air tragedy passenger numbers rose 5.7 per cent to 6.8 million compared to the same period last year.
Some of Europe’s largest airlines including British Airways and Ryanair have called on governments to help minimise the impact of air traffic control strikes in France.
Since 2009 there have been more than 40 strikes. Two-day action earlier this year caused over 1,000 flight cancellations with more than one million passengers affected.
Easyjet’s load factor fell slightly to 91.5 per cent from 91.6 per cent in May 2015.
