EasyJet is continuing its rapid expansion with the news it is to start daily services to Jersey from Liverpool and Luton next spring.
Operating into the southerly UK island for the first time, easyJet is aiming squarely at both business and leisure travellers, while expecting to carry some 200,000 passengers in the first 12 months.
”Not only are we launching services to Jersey for the first time, we are also opening up the market with two new currently un-served routes, connecting it with Luton and Liverpool,” said easyJet general manager David Osborne.
Flights to Jersey from Luton and Liverpool will start on 21 April and 31 March respectively, while the airline adds it is studying ” unspecified ” growth in the future.
Jersey”s business appeal has long been recognised with a plethora of banks and businesses taking advantage of the island”s generous taxation scheme and its growing conference trade.
