British regional carrier Eastern Airways will start flying between Glasgow and Stavanger from September.
Starting September 12, the carrier will operate the route three times weekly, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Monday and Wednesday flights will leave Glasgow at 10.20am, arriving into Stavanger at 1.20pm. On Friday, flights leave Glasgow at 11am, arriving at 1.30pm.
From Stavanger, Monday and Wednesday flights will leave at 9.20am, arriving into Glasgow at 9.50am, while the Friday flight will leave at 10am and arrive at 10.30am.
Kay Ryan, Eastern Airways’ commercial director, said the new route builds on the airline’s network serving the oil and gas industry.
“A new convenient route to Stavanger from Glasgow will not only benefit offshore workers who live in central Scotland,” he said, “but also Norwegian contractors and businesses with links in Glasgow and the surrounding region.
“We will monitor the service and look to increase frequency if there’s high demand for more flights.”
The launch of Glasgow-Stavanger marks Eastern Airways’ first international route from the Scottish airport.
It has been flying from its main Scottish base Aberdeen to Norway since 2007.
