Flights to Amsterdam Schiphol cut
CityJet are set to take over VLM and KLM Cityhopper London City to Amsterdam services from January 5.
The announcement includes several changes to other routes between London City and the Netherlands next year.
The changes come after Air France bought VLM, a regional airline, last year.
CityJet, a subsidiary of Air France KLM, will operate eight return flights to Amsterdam every weekday, one on Saturday and four on Sunday.
This is two fewer flights every weekday than currently available according to VLM's website.
Geoffrey O'Byrne-White, CityJet's ceo, said: "This is a very important development for us. The Amsterdam-London City route is already firmly established with a schedule and service much appreciated by a discerning clientele.
"We look forward to continuing to meet the demands of this market, even in such a challenging environment."
The route will be serviced by 95-seat AVRO RJ85 aircraft with new interiors, offering economy and business class.
The CityJet flights will continue to be sold on VLM and KLM websites as code shares.
CityJet will also relinquish its London City to Eindhoven service to VLM which will run two services a day from January 12.
From January 5, VLM will offer eight flights between London City and Rotterdam every weekday. An additional aircraft stationed at Rotterdam airport will operate charter flights.
VLM said existing sales channels remain unchanged, although a combined CityJet website will be unveiled by the end of the year.
The airline said it is "examining becoming a member" of Air France-KLM's Flying Blue frequent flyer programme which it sees as an "extra advantage to the regular business customers in the Netherlands."
