Cathay Pacific has opened its fifth lounge for premium passengers at Hong Kong International airport.
Located by gate 23 on the airport's central concourse, The Cabin has an IT zone, featuring state of the art technology, and a health bar, serving freshly squeezed juices and Chinese herbal teas.
There is also a deli, where passengers can get made-to-order sandwiches, fresh antipasti and salads.
The 1,3339 sqm lounge was designed by London-based architects Foster and Partners. It features wood, bamboo and dark granite.
Cathay Pacific has three other departure lounges in the airport (The Wind, The Pier and G16) and an arrivals lounge.
John Slosar, Cathay's chief operating officer, said as Hong Kong is Cathay's home hub, the airline needed to "continue to make significant investments to ensure our customers can enjoy an unparalleled pre-flight experience".
Cathay now plans to start on a phased renovation of its flagship lounge, The Wing, from the winter.
The lounge is open between 5.30am until the last departure, to passengers travelling in first and business class passengers, Silver and above members of Cathay's frequent flyer programme, Marco Polo Club, and Sapphire and above Oneworld members.
