The 22nd Business Travel Show opens its doors today and is set to break records as exhibitor numbers climb 5 per cent to 264, including 96 brand new companies, and the show’s floor space increases by 27 per cent taking over the ground floor of the Olympia Grand exhibition centre in London. The show’s feature areas, including the new Launchpad, are sold out and pre-registered visitor and hosted buyer numbers are also up with the show expecting to welcome more than 7,500 attendees to the event this Wednesday and Thursday. Show organisers also announced the shortlist for the final of the first Business Travel Show Disrupt Awards, which will take place at 1130 on Thursday 25 February: Beepry, beTravelwise, DUFL, Flitways and TravelPerk. The 264 exhibitors include American Airlines, American Express Global Business Travel, Egencia, Uber, Amadeus, easyJet, Etihad, Virgin Trains, Portman Travel, Priority Pass, Premier Inn, Capita, FCm Travel Solutions, Flybe, Gett, Hailo, HRG, Mastercard, Star Alliance, Avis, Eurostar and Booking.com. 2016 is also the first time all five of the leading car rental companies will attend the show together: Avis, Hertz, Enterprise Rent a Car, Sixt and Europcar. The show’s feature areas are also sold out, including the Launchpad, International Hotel Village, Airline Pavilion, GTMC Pavilion, The Responsible Travel Management Zone and the ASAP Pavilion of Serviced Apartment Providers and the Business Travel Technology Showcase.
