British Airways is set to expand its short-haul network for the upcoming winter season via its subsidiary carriers based at London’s Gatwick and City airports.
Euroflyer, the carrier’s Gatwick-based subsidiary, will add new routes to Rabat, Morocco, and Graz, Austria.
From 5 November, twice-weekly flights to the Moroccan capital will operate every Wednesday and Sunday using Airbus A320 aircraft, which include the carrier’s Club Europe (business class) cabin.
Services to Graz will operate three times weekly – on Monday, Wednesday and Friday – from 21 November, also with Airbus A320 aircraft. According to the carrier this will be the only direct service between London and Graz.
Meanwhile, British Airways’ London City-based subsidiary, BA Cityflyer, will commence a new service to Madrid, Spain, from 1 December.
Flights on the new route will operate 11 times weekly and will complement BA’s existing Heathrow-Madrid service for a total of 44 weekly flights between the two cities.
Flight times on the route have been “optimised” to allow for connections to South America from Madrid, the carrier said.
