British Airways will cancel a “small number” of short-haul flights from Heathrow across three days of strike action by cabin crew.
Workers are set to walkout on January 19 for 72 hours in a dispute over pay for members on ‘Mixed Fleet’ contracts.
Workers claim they are underpaid and dispute the airline’s claim that staff are paid a minimum of £21,000 a year through pay, bonuses and incentives.
British Airways has described the call for strike action as “bizarre” and “completely without justification”.
The airline confirmed all flights to and from Gatwick and London City will operate as normal, as well as all long-haul flights to and from Heathrow.
BA said it will merge a number of short-haul flights to and from Heathrow, which will result in the cancellation of “only one per cent of total scheduled flights”.
BA said this will mean some customers will travel slightly earlier or later in the day than their original booking.
The airline will contact all passengers that are affected, but passengers are advised to use the Manage My Booking section to check travel plans.
