Bmi Regional has launched a bid to encourage passengers to use Brussels airport as a hub, rather than larger European airports such as Heathrow or Paris.
The airline has announced plans to work "closely" with Brussels Airlines, by introducing adjusted timetables and new codeshares on European routes.
Part of the Bmi group, Bmi Regional operates from regional airports in the UK.
Its flights from Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford and East Midlands Airport will connect up with Brussels Airlines' services to some 20 European destinations, including Bilbao, Madrid and Rome.
Stewart Adams, Bmi Regional's MD, said: "We are delighted to open up Europe to key UK regional airports."
By adjusting the flight times of our UK to Brussels services and introducing new codeshares to a number of European cities, customers "no longer face a lengthy wait for connections, making travel to Europe as seamless as possible", said Adams.
Both Brussels Airlines and Bmi are owned by the Lufthansa group and are members of Star Alliance.
